A women wearing a T-shirt that riducules the Bush administration was ordered to get off an airplane after some passengers complained. I totally agree with her when she says "Here we are trying to free another country and I have to get off an airplane ... over a T-shirt. That's not freedom."

I am 100 percent sure that she would have been just fine if she'd had on a T-shirt that blows off Sadam Hussein instead.

What hypocrisy.

Now, this is stupid. I've been told to take off my Budweiser t-shirt at high school once (we all go through those ages when we think drinking is cool dont we?), but this is on a totally different level.

The poor lady's just expressing her view on politics. Do we not have even have that freedom no more?

What suprised me the most is how the airline just allowed them to argue over this and let the couple leave...

I think here may have been more to this. I read that the T-shirt had profanity on it. It is possible that she was not taken off for her point of view, but for using language that was inappropriate.

I also read that she was asked to cover the shirt up, and only after she didn't did she get kicked off. It sounds to me like she was looking to make this into an issue, perhaps for the public attention.

Don't get me wrong - I agree with what she is saying about the war - I just want to make sure everyone understands there may be 2 sides to this issue.

What the original article says is that she had covered the shirt with a sweatshirt, and that the sweatshirt slipped while she was trying to sleep.

It doesn't say much about how it actually happened. You may be right - she may have just let it happen as a means to express her opinions. I'd think, though, that she should have been told to cover it again unless she'd done that clearly on purpose. I'm sure the airline would have made that clear if in fact it was a deliberate act.

A more detail about exactly what constituted the violation of Southwest's rules - is it the profanity or the whole package - would be helpful.
