Read the newspaper today & knew that Cathay Pacific may be taken over by Air China & Air China will become one of HK's two main airlines.
HK-listed Swire Pacific may accept Air China shares in return for its 45.73% stoke from selling Cathay, a move that would make it be the largest shareholder in the mainland carrier & will place its executives at the core of the new group's operations, according to informed sources in the affected companies.
Actually, Cathay has bought 10% shares from Air China since Nov.
So that, you may travel Air China instead of travelling CX in the future. Do you agree?
P.S. Information was from scmp, VOL LX1 No. 73 page 1 on 16 Mar 05.
could this be true?!
a shocking news to me as i am a big fan of cathay pacific. i dont really understand the stock thing, but sounds like there's something going on between the carriers.
