EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2008-09 DAVIDSON BASKETBALL SEASON, BUT HAVEN’T YET ASKED.
Hello Wildcat Fans!
If you have an interest in Davidson basketball, please pay close attention to this message. Read this email in its entirety, print it, make notes on your calendar… do whatever you need to do to preserve it, because we will NOT be sending emails before each game this season to alert you to telecast gatherings each time they happen!
This year, Davidson men’s basketball has the good fortune to have several nationally- and regionally- televised games. Please make note of the dates and times that these games will be televised. Additionally, most alumni chapters have chosen a “home base viewing location” so that alumni around the country can enjoy games with other Davidson fans. Please visit your alumni chapter website and plan on going to your assigned location for each of the televised events this year – you’ll be sure to find other Davidson people there as well! If the game is on television, you can count on it being shown at your chapter’s home base viewing location. Every time. That’s why this is your one and only notice!
Davidson plays N.C. State this Saturday, December 6th at 12:00 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte. Want to go to the game? Tickets are still available through TicketMaster (please do not call the Davidson ticket office for tickets – they are not available there). This game is also being televised on Fox SportsNet South, so if you’re not able to make it to the game you can still watch it with other Davidson folks at your chapter home base.
Davidson plays West Virginia this Tuesday, December 9th at 7:00 p.m. at Madison Square Garden in the Jimmy V Classic in New York City. Tickets are still available through TicketMaster (please do not call the Davidson ticket office for tickets – they are not available there). If you’ll be in New York for that game, also join us at 4:00 p.m. at Local West (33rd Street at 8th Avenue) for a huge Davidson pre-game event! This game is also being televised on ESPN, so if you’re not able to make it to the game you can still watch it with other Davidson folks at your chapter home base.
The Davidson men and women will play in the SoCon Tournament March 6-9, 2009 in Chattanooga, TN. We are currently working on blocks of alumni hotel rooms and a pre- and post-game home base location for Davidson fans traveling to Chattanooga. Details will follow sometime in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. Once again, do NOT contact our ticket office since they are not yet able to offer any assistance with this tournament – we will announce ticket information when it is available.
Davidson’s women also have one televised game this year – please make a special effort to support the team on this important occasion! The game is Saturday, February 7th at Elon; tip time is 2:00 p.m. This is a great chance to see Davidson’s OTHER conference pre-season player of the year, Mercedes Robinson ’09!
We are so pleased with the enthusiasm for our basketball teams, and hope that you will make an effort to enjoy these opportunities with Davidson friends. This is the only email we will be sending out about telecasts, so again, visit your chapter Web pages and make note of your viewing location. We look forward to hearing stories from each of you about the special memories you’ll make this season with old and new friends alike!
