はじめまして！

I'm from Britain.

When I came to Japan, I was astounded that Japanese smoke so much - especially women. I have never been in a country where so many women smoke.

If I see an attractive woman, and then I see that she smokes, then I can no longer see her as attactive.

Women spend a lot of time and money on hair, make-up, clothes, perfume - looking and smelling attractive. Why do they waste the effort with cigarettes?

Why do women smoke so much here? Is it cool?

Apologies for the English :) Smoking is one of the things I don't like about Japan. In Britain, bars and restaurants are non-smoking. It's nice to meet non-smokers here!

I totally agree with you. I don't understand why they smoke either... I'm currently living in the U.S, and I'm so glad that all the bars and restaurants are non-smoking in this state.
