HMS/HSDM OPF: Career Discussion Hour

Speaker: Alex Szidon, PhD, Director of Business Development, Harvard Medical School, Office of Technology Development

Alex Szidon joined OTD in 2008. Prior to joining Harvard, Alex worked in the Strategic Alliances group at the Novartis Institutes of BioMedical Research. At Novartis, Alex directed business development activities in the musculoskeletal disease area and led the evaluation, diligence and negotiation of early clinical assets and research technologies. Prior to employment with Novartis, Alex directed strategic planning and preclinical program management at DARA BioSciences, provided management consultant services in the life sciences practice at L.E.K Business Consulting and worked with GreatPoint Ventures to found Zafgen. Alex received his PhD in biochemistry and cell biology from UC San Francisco.
