Annual Symposium: Protein Folding & Neurodegeneration Monday, September 29, 2008 8:00 am - 5:15 pm Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur Boston, MA 02115
Event Description: That protein misfolding and aggregation are important in the pathology of neurodegenerative diseases is clear. But just how they impact the synapse and ultimately lead to neuronal death is less clear. With reference to AD, PD, ALS, HD and the prion diseases, this symposium will examine the role of aberrant protein behavior in the basic biology of these and related disorders and how our growing but incomplete understanding of aggregation-prone proteins might influence prevention and treatment. A reception immediately follows the symposium from 5:15-6:15 pm.
