We are looking for a teacher who will assist under the supervision of our preceptors to teach small-class "drill" sections in Japanese, most likely at the advanced (fifth-year) level. The fifth-year level is our most advanced level and includes students whose Japanese in some cases is near native. The class focuses on skills in making academic presentations, writing academic papers, and other skills such as discussion and debate, with a topical focus on social issues in modern Japanese society. The candidate should therefore be native or near-native in their Japanese skills, preferably with a good knowledge of contemporary affairs in Japan and experience in teaching Japanese as a second language.
The position can be FULL TIME or part time. We would like to have a full time instructor if possible.
