Last Year was awesoem and was even on the News. Lets do it Again

(日本語は英語の後)
Hate Yamanote? Love Beer ★ ? Next week's saturday will reconcile you
again with crowded Japanese trains - at the world-famous Yamanote
halloween party! The party is organised by no one - people just gather
on the same platform in Shinjuku and then just everybody hops on the
same train and parties.
Sounds crazy? This party has been a major hit for years - last year
alone, there were 500 people, half of them Japanese, half Gaijin,
going round and round for hours on a butt-normal Yamanote train, see
pics at http://www.flickr.com/photos/hekireki69/sets/1263795/
Although police might come in later to clear the wagons and make
space for those well-behaving, sober students and businessman normally
filling late night trains, don't worry: Nobody will arrest you for
drinking and singing on a train - just keep your ticket!
This year's train leaves from Shinjuku station at 9.07 pm on
Saturday, October 28th. Gather from 8.30 pm on platform #13 in JR's
Shinjuku station (the "outbound" trains in direction to Ikebukuro) and
just get on the train when it arrives. Come in costumes, bring your
friends and your own drinks - don't count on those kiosks. And tell
everybody else > the more, the partier!

(Japanese)
YAMANOTE 嫌い? Love Beer ★ ?

Ok The whole basis of the party is that police can never go in stations in Japan. Is beyong their jurisdiction for cases like that. Secondly drinking in public or wearing a costume is not illegal. And you can keep riding the same train as long as you have a ticket. Unless you really annoy people they cannot remove you from th etrain and thats why last year they did not. Anyway we do a full yamanote circle and all of us just party after that. I believe is great way of making things a little bit spicier for the the monotonous Tokyo life.
haha yeah, it was the railway police. i know they're not mere security, maybe like campus police? anyways, gaijin power, rah or sumthin..
Trust me is so much fun for the things we go through the whole year. Last year I had great time and met some realy cool dudes. Just feels like we own Tokyo for a night. No fights or anything happened. I think most people found it rather amusing.
Hahahaha I doubt it but there is one in Osaka the same day.I am sure someeone around might know the details. hahaha have fun and happy Halloween
oh my gawd!! flash mob party!!!

sounds like soooooo much fun. i'll have to do it next year. hope i hear about it somehow.
I've heard this info in my English school but I didn't
trust it. BUT now that I know that is happening, I must
go!! Though I have no idea what to wear there.
Yes it true. Thought the same last year and when I went there was so much fun. Actually the crowd is half Foreign half japanese. Reminds me Lemmings the game. So many random people joined us on their way back home. Salary men, so on...
wow that,s will be a lot of evil in yamanote
so how much sadako there will be?
so i will be a goshtbuster and i will promoted fast because i chatch a lot of gosht
thanks for the info
hahaha kidding man
I hope to see many of you. The same day is My Bday so whoever wants can join th eproper party after that. Email me if you wish to come. Foreigners and japanese welcome . Costume is appropriate though. Thinking of being Pikachu the x rated version
This is exactly how they are going to justify throwing us all out of the country. Mass Gatherings and Drinking on the train! in Post 911? If there`s been on problems until now just consider yourself lucky. It only takes one jerk and one asshole cop to to remind you that this is not America and you have no rights. I don`t like how stiff the Japanese system is either, but I would never impose myself on them in public like that. The majority of them ( the ones that count) hate it and will force the authorities to put an end to it if it seems that its getting out of hand. Just make sure some one is responsible for keeping the peace and protecting any passengers that are not loving the experience. There are plenty of parties going on in Roppongi that night. You know they can`t take a joke so why push it.
I appreciated your post and I guess you wont be coming. Well for one cops cant get into train stations in Japan only JR staf can stop it and to be honest there is nothing to stop. If someone is annoying they will just tell him to go. I understand you are being kind by warning all the posters but at the end of the day we just want to have fun. For all the rest who do not want to come is fine but please do not make it sound as if it is a criminal act.And I am sure if everyone is responsible for themselves. If some guy is being indeed and idiot let him deal with it. It doe snot affect me or you. At the end of the day I just posted this email I received and information like that is always passed around in forums. I know i will have fun. The ones who dont want to come is cool we will post pictures later
I hope you are right. I have been here long enough to know how the typical Japanese older person might feel about the gathering in the train and its not good. Beer drinking is totally taboo on the trains and subways period. When we try to coexist in a foreign country its always best not to force your radical ideas and actions on them in public. It just gives them more reasons to dislike you. The "I don`t care" what you think generation obviously will not be worried about any of this. There are undercover police on the trains and subways. And they can and will stop you the hard way if it comes to that. You all must take responsibility and make sure nothing stupid happens. Your actions reflect on all of us whether we show up for the train party or not.
As I said I totally agee with you my friend. The party was run for a few years now peacefully since half th ecrowd is Japanese anyway. This Thread is not for debate, I am sure everyone appreciateed your advice. The thread is here to advice people about time of party and all. And I am sure the stuff that eflect on all of us as you say is what happens in Roppongi and all the foreign scum which turns this coutry slowly to Thailand. There are good foreigners here and i am sure hope nothing goes wrong. Nevertheless for th erest of you everything is as planned.
Anyone going with the Nike Cosplay?

As if Halloween has anything to do with Japan...
Why don't we all fast on Ramadan from now on?
halloween party = alcohol & cosplay

im surprised its not bigger in japan yet. japan loves both alcohol and cosplay.
wow if i couldn't have been more embarrased to be a foreigner i happened to be at the station and went to take a look, it was completely ridiculous, 90 percent of the people were foreigners and it was something i will want to forget very soon, as if we don't make enough distraction as it is they had to take the party to the train where people are just trying to get home, nice idea who ever thought of that one.
さぃ・・・
I think I saw you in the train.
but not all of them only some of them
I saw your pink, yellow and green
I had great time same like last year.
I wore nurse this year.

i start worrying if im addicted to cosplay now, since its so fun!!
or
it might bring better job than now??
Nice comment Sergio you must be the brightest in your family...
Made the video! Sorry for the bizzare filming job.

(スコットは参宮橋) "as if we don't make enough distraction as it is they had to take the party to the train where people are just trying to get home, nice idea who ever thought of that one. "

I guess you just said it all. There is a proper time and place for everything, and that was not the time or the place for that craziness. When will the average person have the wisdom to tell the difference?
Seriously, the vide is awesome, and whoever thought of this is a complete genius. I'll be there next halloween fo sho!

Whoever organized this try to write me on here!

Props,
-Mike Ellis
Ha, looks like the railway cops are actually riding in the cars to "maintain order" or something. How many of them were there?

In Kansai, the railway cops were trying to stop the party from happening, I wonder if they take a different stance on it.

Drunk party in public, yeah that's sorta like hanami or BBQ (or any other excuse). Cosplay + alcohol, it has to get big in the future.
?it has to get big in the future? It has been around for awhile and its as big as its gonna get. I hope I never have to say "I told you so". They will never allow it to get any bigger. Take Kansai as an example of the future. I am no prude and like crazy fun as much as the next guy but I also know how the majority of Japanese that count feel about this sort of thing. This is walking a very thin line. And the question is? Why? Just to piss them off ? thats pretty animal house.
Sounds really nice!!!!

I live in Osaka...so I hope that thing happen in Osaka JR Line.(kan jo sen).

Anyway, tonight is Halloween!!!! Enjoy eveyone!!!
Yeah, for the most part only oyaji alkies and gaijins drink on local Tokyo trains.
Point well taken.... Bullet trains have beer too. Do you know the expression? "Give them an inch and they will take a mile." Just because they tolerate some minor beer drinking by a few individuals on longer distance trains or while waiting for the trains does not mean its right to take advantage. Next thing you know they will be stopping Grandpa from having his beer because some "Animal House" gaijins and dysfunctional Japanese decided to take it too far. You want a cause to fight for? Choose one that makes a difference not one that is stupid and just to make you feel like the rebel YOU ARE NOT.
I very much agree with TokyoOG. Taking advantage of your freedoms is just going to get them taken away.
Mr Sergio for any of you guys who cannot read Japanese says on his profile that girls who go out with white and black men are stupid. Well it seems you are so god damned stupid that you believe we cannot even speak , read and understand your language I suppose. I saw your comments also on the other forum regarding racism in Japan. It must really hurt you I suppose and make you really unhappy with yourself the fact you get no girls. And I can tell you that Japanese girls who turn to foreigners is probably because of guys like you. Go back to your cave now asstrol.
Hello. We've had this before.
You don't need to post the same bullshit twice.
