【フィエスタ・デ・ラス・ヴィルヘン・デ・メルセデス】
Fiesta de las Virgen de Mercedes
☆開催場所：カルワス Carhuaz
☆開催時期：9月18日〜10月2日
☆内容
→ワラス近郊カルワスCarhuazの守護聖人Virgen de Mercedesを讃える祭り。
祭りは2週間と長い期間にわたって行われ、期日中にはアンカッシュ地方の
伝統的な踊りやその民族衣装、地域の伝統食、闘牛、民芸品などの市、
聖母の像を担いで行進するなどが行われる。
カルワシ−ノCarhuacinosという住民にとっては飲めや歌えやの連日の宴会となる。

☆ダンスSHAQAPAS(SHACSHAS)について。
時代をプレインカにさかのぼり、ペル−・ユンガイ地方の田舎を起源とする踊り。
SHAQAPA TUSHUCOJ、いわば当時その踊りはそのように呼ばれていたが、今は
SHAQAPAS、つまりそれをはじめたShajapas, the Shacapasそれか単にShacshas
というダンサ−一族の名をとっている。
1962年に白人の教授Corina Trillion氏が記した“SHACSHA”という本で、
彼はサン・ファンSan Juan(Santo Patrón de Shacsha、踊りの聖人) の巡礼行進に言及しているその町の踊りと習慣についてよく記述しており、`Shaqapa Danza
は`Kqatza `というヘルメットをかぶった踊り手によって踊られ、そのヘルメットは鹿の足のハンドルと銀の金具がついた皮製のブレ−ドがついた鞭をもったものだった。

今、数十の踊りの種類があり、それらはShaqapas de Utcush, the Shaqapas de Rayan, the Shaqapas de Patapata, the Shaqapas of San Jacinto de Mita and Tingua, the Shaqapas of San Roque de Mancosなどがあり、その影響を主にHuaylasワイラスの隣の県や特に前述のカワラスCarhuaz県に及ぼしている。
