Valkyrie

I saw the movie, "Valkyrie", second time.
It's a 2008 film derected by Bryan Singer and written by Christopher McQuarrie and Nathan Alexander.
And starring Tom Cruise.

It's based on a true story about Nazi Germany during World War II, 20 July plot in 1944 by German army officers to assassinate Adolf Hitler.
Starring Tom Cruise as Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg.
Other stars are Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Eddie Izzard, Terence Stamp, and Tom Wilkinson.
Great actors.

It was an excellent movie and Box office was $201.5 million.
Big hit.
That's because it's starred by Tom Cruise and about Adolf Hitler, I guess.
So many people seem to be interested in this man and Nazi Germany.

Main caractor, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg is good looking guy, looks like Tom a little.
According to some articles there were the attempt on Hitler at least forty-two times, but all of them ended in failure.
Hitler seemed to be a very careful man with keen noses.

This story is one of them.

At the beginning, many people including Stauffenberg regarded hitler as a great leader.
But gradually most people, especially the German people
realized "He is a monster who distroy Germany and the world".
Actually he was a madman!

That's why Stauffenberg and other German army officers started to plot the assassination together.
To save Germany from the devil and establish a new nation.
But something went wrong, it failed by accident.
That is interesting.
Victory or defeat is often decided by accident and things
are controlled by it.
You might be able to say, the world is carried and made by chance, in a sense.

By the way, Tom Cruise was one of the producers.
I guess he was really interested in this historical event.
So am I.
Why did the Mazi dictatorship stand up in the modern era?
I thought Weimar constitution was bad.
But actually it wasn't wrong.
Hitler forced Hindenburg to issue the President Executive Order to stop fundamental human rights in Germany.

Because of that Hitler and the Nazis gained unlimited power.
Since then, no one could stop him.
This is the biggest tragedy in the history that human race
have had ever.

Stauffenberg became a German hero who tried to save Germany
from Hitler, the devil.
The plan failed unfortunately and only after nine months
the Nazis was collapsed and Hitler killed himself.
Still, Stauffenberg and other German army officers are appreciated for the brave coup by the Germans even now.

It was a big tragedy.
But I think we can learn from all those history.
So learning history, reading some books and watching movies
are important.

Tom Cruise is one of the greatest actors.
I love his movies and watch one out of around ten days.
Action movies, love stories, comedies and serious dramas.
