Hermanez( Leena Music, Viva Music, Monique Musique, Kling Klong / From Belgium )
オランダ・リンブルフ出身のマイケル・コニンクスことHermanezは、若干13歳でDJを始め、エレクトロニック・ミュージックシーンに入り込む。
テクノをプレイし、17歳の時には、初めてのDJプレイをクラブで体験。
瞬く間にシーンにて頭角を現し、数多くのローカルイベントに出演する。
ハッセルトで開催されたDJ大会では優勝を収め、シーンが認めるDJ/Producerとしての地位を築く。
Miquell Santosの名義で活動してきたマイケルは、後に自身のラテンルーツを意識し始め、アーティスト名義をHermanezに変更。
これまでのありきたりなサウンドを捨て、新たなエレクトロニックミュージックへの追求を始める。
ドライブ感のあるベースラインと鼓動に響くキックに、エキゾチックなトライバルサウンドやリズム感のあるボーカルサンプルを織り交ぜ、Hermanez独特のサウンドを築き上げる。
2008年には数々のトラックをUKレーベルMiconn Recordsからリリース。シーンから多大なる注目を受け、リンブルフのレコードショップで働きながら、楽曲制作に多忙な日々を送る。
自身のトラックは、今日のテクノ/ハウスシーンをリードしているLauhaus、Martinez、 Ramon Tapia や Barretz などのアーティストによりリミックスされ、Laurent Garnier、Sven Vath、Christian Smith などのトップDJから熱いサポートを受ける。
また、Anja Schneiderのレーベル Leena Music や、Paul Ritch の Quartz imprintへの楽曲提供、La Factoria、Microfreak Records、Monique Musique へのリミックスワークにより、今や世界が注目するトップアーティストとなる。
2010年には、Kling KlongやCircle Musicからトラックをリリースし、Brothers VibeやGregor Thresher などがヘビープレイしている。
また、Thomas Schumacher、AFFKT、Martin Eyerer & Oliver Klein、Carlo Lio、 Kaiserdisco などの人気アーティストのリミックスを数々手掛けている。
DJ活動も精力的に行い、アムステルダムのMelkwegやCafe D’Anversでレジデントを務める傍ら、ブラジルやアメリカでのDJツアー、伝説のTresorやロンドンのThe Egg、ドイツ・ミュンヘンのRote Sonne などでプレイしてきている。
