Hasan Salaam (born 1981) is an MC, rapper born in New York City and raised in New Jersey. A black Muslim whose father is caucasian and mother is Black[1], his lyrics touch on such subjects as "post-colonial exploitation of African (hip-hop) culture", "the African diaspora", and "the true Islamic jihad". Salaam organizes food and clothing drives in Jersey City on the third Sunday of each month[1].
