About us
私たち、solve(ソルブ)は２００９年６月に発足した『外国人留学生向けのフリーペーパー』を製作するフリーペーパー出版×国際交流サークルです。
私達、solve(ソルブ)は広告営業・イベント企画・コンテンツ企画・製作の４つのグループに分かれ、『留学生の表現の場』『困ったときに読みたくなる』『日本語のレベルに関係なく楽しめる』これら３つのテーマを基にしたフリーペーパー製作活動を軸に、日本の生活に不慣れな外国人留学生をサポートする様々な企画を生み出すプロジェクトを行っています。
昨今、人、モノ、金、情報・技術などの急激なグローバル化の進展とあいまって、アジア人と欧米人、ひいては多様な文化観・価値観・思想との共存が求められています。私が所属する早稲田大学においても、現在およそ３０００人の外国人留学生が在籍し、２０１２年までには、外国人留学生を８０００人受け入れると公表しています。
しかし、外国人留学生が日本で生活することの弊害は、まだ完全に取り除かれていないように思えます。例えば、衣食住、就職、アルバイト、部屋探し、友達作りなどの問題は、多くの外国人留学生の不安・悩みの種となっています。
このような状況下、私たちにできることは何かを模索し続け、『外国人留学生向けのフリーペーパー』を着想し、solve(ソルブ)を発足しました。私達、solve(ソルブ)はこのフリーペーパーをより多くの外国人留学生の手に届けるべく、日本人と外国人留学生が共に手を取り合いながら活動を行います。
すなわち、solve(ソルブ)では日本人だけでなく外国人留学生が当団体の脳となり、教育機関や行政の手が行き届いてない問題を自分たちの力で解決するべく、考え・計画し(plan) 実行し(do) 検証・分析を重ね(check) 何度も実行し(action)、解決(solve)します。多様な文化観・価値観・思想をぶつけ合いながら問題解決し、何か新しい変化を起こし続けていくことに、私達solve(ソルブ)の存在意義があると考えています。
私達のメンバーの多くは海外での生活経験があり、異国での生活が試練であることを理解しています。今後も、より多くの外国人留学生が日本で最高の時間を過ごし、多くの感動・思い出をシェアできるように、メンバー一同全力で留学生の方々をサポートしていく所存です。これからもどうぞ私たちの活動にご理解・ご協力の程よろしくお願いします。

About us
On June, 2009, we established the group, whose name is
“solve”. The purposes of this group are publishing free
papers for foreign students in Japan and international
exchange.
We are organized by four sections which are advertizing
planner, event planner, content planner and publishing free
papers. We think that publishing free papers is the most
important project among four sections and we will focus
on three targets when we do it.
First, we intend to give foreign students a chance to
express what they think.
Second, free papers which we are going to publish are
helpful when they are in a pinch. Lastly, we want to
publish free papers which they can read with a lot of
fun in spite of how good their Japanese is.
Therefore, we are making many kinds of projects to
support them who still doesn’t get used to the way
of Japanese life.
Now, we need to accept and share many different values,
cultures and thoughts because we are living at a time of
globalism. That is to say, we will get many chances to
communicate with foreign people. We won’t be able to
avoid it. Possibly, you still don’t feel this way,
but we think what we say can be confirmed by this fact.
Now, we mostly belong to Waseda University. Only at
Waseda University, there are 3,000 foreign students
so far and they announced that the number of foreign
students at Waseda University will reach at 8,000 by 2012.
However, we think that a lot of foreign students
seem that they still have a bunch of problems to live
in Japan. For example, it must be really difficult for
them to get a job, get a part-time job, to find a place
and get along with new friends in Japan.
Therefore, we started to think about what we can do for
them and then decided to establish “solve” in order to
solve these problems as we described above with free papers.
For it, we will work with Japanese students and foreign students.
In our group, we think that both Japanese students
and foreign students will be the main part of our group
and then think, plan, carry out, check, take action
again and again and solve problems which our education agency
and government never care about together. Thus, we think
that it is important to solve problems by discussing with
different values and thoughts and to create a lot of changes.
On these two points, our significant of existence is shown.
Many members of our group have lived abroad like you
and understand how hard it is. That’s why we all will
support you to have great days and memories in Japan!!
