This community is for anyone who loves the music and instruments of the Silk Road. It doesn't matter if you play or just love to listen, this group is open to everyone.

We hope to share information here about the instruments, links to audio and video files, tuning and other information, reviews of CDs and video and announcements for performances too.

Later we will be adding information about how to find and purchase instruments and also information about where you can find study materials.

Since we spend a lot of time trying to learn about our own instruments, we decided to set up a place where we could keep and share what we find. I hope other members will post information here and share their insights too.

Many of the world's instruments have roots somewhere in the Silk Road. Evven the most common electric guitar can trace a history back to the lutes of Central Asia and Persia. The Silk Road was a place where cultures met and exchanged ideas.

This group is for anyone who plays or loves listening to instruments from all across the many Silk Road passages. We hope you will share information about your favorite instruments here. We have set up a few common topics where you can add information and details. But please feel free to add a topic if you don't see one that matches what you want to share or say.
