Preston Scott Cohen 　

1961年、ノース・カロライナ州、アシュヴィルに生まれる。1983年、ロード・アイランド・デザイン学校で美術と建築の学士課程を終え、1985年、ハーヴァード大学GSDで建築の博士課程を修了する。現在、ハーヴァード大学GSD建築学科准教授である。
「建築の調和と苦難についての論議」（プリンストン建築出版、 2001年）や「記述的幾何学の置換」（2002年出版予定）の著作がある。最近では、本誌掲載のニューヨークのメディア・アート・ミュージアムの指名コンペで最終選考に残っている。また、『層・塊・箱』展（カーネギー美術館、2001年）や、『アンプライヴェート・ハウス』展（ニューヨーク近代美術館、1999年）、ヴェネツィア・ビエンナーレ（1996年）に参加している。

Preston Scott Cohen
Professor of Architecture,HGSD

Preston Scott Cohen is a Professor of Architecture at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. He is the author of Contested Symmetries and Other Predicaments in Architecture, and a forthcoming publication, Permutations of Descriptive Geometry. Among his most acclaimed projects are the Montague House, Torus House and short list proposals for the Temporary MoMA and the Museum of Art and Technology in New York. He was one of four representing the US in "Emerging Voices" at the Venice Biennale International Exhibition of Architecture in 1996. Cohen's work has been widely exhibited and published internationally and is in the collections of several museums including The Museum of Modern Art in New York and The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
