24 year old jazz trumpet player, composer, arranger, DJ and producer. Halsall picked up the trumpet at just 6 years old after being taken to a jazz concert by his parents. From the age of 14 Matt has toured the world playing in France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Holland, Kula Lumpur, Singapore, Australia and America.

In more recent years Matt has become increasingly drawn to creating his own music and spends most of his time composing, recording and performing it live. His current line up’s include: Trumpet, Saxophone, Flute, Harp, Piano, Double Bass and Drums. Matt has been described as a spiritual, free and meditative player who picks up from where the 60s modal explorations of Alice Coltrane, John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders and Miles Davis left off.

When he’s not busy doing the above Matt enjoys sharing his musical influences with friendly folk in clubs, bars and on the radio as a DJ. With a broad range of influences expect to hear anything from: Jazz, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, House, African, Latin, Dub and Reggae.
