'For us, Seattle is home' 最高の一言をありがとう。
By now, you have heard that I have been traded to the Philadelphia Phillies. While I am very honored the Phillies want me to join them in their playoff run, I’m deeply saddened to be leaving the Seattle Mariners, a team filled with great teammates who have meant so much to me for the past 10 years. I am extremely grateful to everyone in the Mariners organization for the opportunity they have given me through the years and wish them great success in the future. Though there have been many highs and lows over the years, one constant has been the thousands of faithful, loyal fans. I will forever be thankful to all of you for the encouragement you have given me, win or lose and I will miss seeing so many of you at the ballpark.
From time to time I’ve been asked, “What happens to The Moyer Foundation if you’re traded or once you retire? Will your family still stay in Seattle?” The answer to both these questions is quite simple – The Moyer Foundation and our family are in Seattle to stay – it’s our home.
The Foundation has grown quickly and has become strong due to the same qualities you have shown me on the field – tremendous loyalty and commitment. So, regardless of where I am playing baseball, all of us still have so much more to do to help children in our community who are in severe distress. While it’s impossible for me to thank each and every one of you in person for all you mean to me, please know how grateful I am to you for your friendship, for your confidence in me and your unconditional support.
