Toyota InfoTechnology Center USA Seeks Technical Program Manager – Japanese Speaking
Since 2001, Toyota InfoTechnology Center USA, Inc. has specialized in R&D and business research with a focus on cutting-edge information technologies to advance the driving experience of Toyota automobiles and safety of the automotive industry around the globe. ITC’s current areas of interest include future vehicular network, in-vehicle software and system architecture, vehicle-to-vehicle communication technology, intelligent computing technology including artificial intelligence and machine learning, Smart Grid.

The Center’s Connected Services Team is creating a suite of Mobility Services focused on solving problems faced by everyday drivers. We believe in lean principles and employ a customer-centric approach to development in which we talk to customers, build and iterate.

Technical Program Manager – Japanese Speaking
Connected Services is seeking a talented Technical Program Manager to be involved in complex, multi-disciplinary projects. The TPM’s primary role is to work closely with the development team and to serve as liaison with Toyota stakeholders in Japan and USA.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring to the job:
• Experience successfully managing technical projects by creating requirements, planning schedules and tracking milestones through the entire project life cycle.
• Strong written and verbal Japanese communication skills (native Japanese or very high language proficiency).
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering and 8+ years professional experience.
• Experience working with iOS/Android platforms and familiarity with iAP2/OAP and other connectivity protocols.
• Ability to explain project status and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders and to discuss the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
• Ability to ensure that the program outcomes are easily understood by Japanese- and English-speaking stakeholders.
• Ability to navigate through a code-base to create thorough technical documentation such as UML Diagrams and API documentation.
• Experience with version control software such as Git and SVN.
