International Exchange in 倉敷コミュのEarly language education for kids

I'm having fun studying English with my nine-month-old son. I play English CDs or MDs I recorded and read out English books to him. But some people say too much early
education of foreign language for kids could cause trouble with the development of their mother tangue. What do you think? Do you agree with this idea?

If you think about the volume of the Japanese he will hear compared to the little English, I think you need not worry. Anyhow, children are like sponges and pick up everything around them.
What you are offering is experience of the language. Research shows that children are born with the natural rhythm of their mother tongue programmed in from all the sounds they heard while in the womb. It would take a lot of English input to override this.
What will make a real difference is structured input as he grows up. Children readily learn songs, stories etc in other languages but lack the consistent input of sentence structure and practising the language that moves them towards mastery.
I'm a real advocate of early language learning from the point of primary school education but I'm also a realist about the actual level that children can achieve at this age while they are still mastering their own mother tongue. Only immersion, either at home or at school, can make any difference. We can, however, lay the foundations of successful language learning ready for the later years of their education.

I'm very sorry for not updating　this community　for a long time.
My son will be 4 years old in August.
He is growing well, but at the same time, he's getting naughtier and naughtier.
I sometime talk to him in English, read English books or
show him TV programs in English. But as he is beginning to understand Japanese, he says,
“No English, Japanese please!” (英語いや、日本語で!）. English is not our daily language.
So, I'm beginning to realize it's difficult to teach a little kid a foreign language. But he seems to
enjoy some English TV programs for kids like “Eigo de Asobo” (えいごであそぼ）.
The characters in the program are cute. He like to sing songs with them.

We met a guy who was a foreigner with his two-year-old daughter in the park, the other day.
He said he speaks English and French and his wife is Japanese, so his daughter is learning
three languages. I wonder how she is learning three different languages at the same time.
I didn't have time to ask it.
