Studying for 三級 JLPT right now, going back to school soon (WWU) for exchange program. My speaking/communication is horrible right now due to isolation.
I've taken classes at the local university here, but due to work I haven't been able to commit that much time to it, so I've been trying to learn by myself. A lot of my problem is with vocabulary and grammar so far. Hopefully that will change sometime soon.
I took a few years of Japanese in college, studied it on my own for another year or so, but since the last class more than a year ago I had I've had fairly little practice, especially since I've been living like a hikikomori after graduation in May, and have gone from being reasonably capable of communicating in Japanese to sounding like a total stooge.
Studied Japanese last year until I transferred because I didn't want to be a music major anymore... And this college sucks (partly because there's no Japanese program). I'm a CS major here, and I hate it. So I've been studying Japanese on my own, and am gonna transfer to the University of Pitt to become a linguistics major and hopefully study abroad in Japan! Exciting!
