なんちゃって英語・英会話コミュのRING FINGER

Now I'm checking THE ENGLISH SENTENCE as work.
I study what each finger is called in ENGLISH.

A thumb
Index finger
Middle finger
Ring finger
Little finger

How cute the name "Ring finger" is!
How nice the name " Index finger" is!

By the way,
Why is ONLY "Middle finger" normal name?

Actually, I think that both middle finger and little finger are normal name. They are both named based on how they look.

Index finger and ring finger are named based on how they are used (index basically meaning that the finger is used to point to things - and the index finger is sometimes also known as the pointer finger).

I don't know why the thumb is called a thumb.

I've never heard anyone say Little finger, but I call it PINKY finger...

It is called the pinky. You don't need to say finger after pinky. The ring finger is called the ring finger because naturally, you put your wedding ring on that finger.
