I am sorry that I misspelled "konnichiwa". I think sometimes on an English computer it is difficult to use the IME (Input Method Editor) that come with Windows. I should have paid more attention.

Surprisingly, I do not have much of an accent when I speak Japanese. I have been speaking Japanese as long as I have been speaking English. On the other hand, my English is much better than my Japanese, because I live in an English-speaking country and the only Japanese person I know is my mother.
I spoke the same level of Japanese and English until I was 5 years old and I began elementary school. Since all the school children spoke English, my English improved, while my Japanese speaking ability remained about the same, maybe even dwindled away.

I am surprised that there is so much Japanese in the English slang community.

www.urbandictionary.com (very amusing, even for english speakers)

Explaining slang can be a complicated task. Since most members of this community are native speakers of Japanese, I don't find it all that surprising that Japanese is used widely to explain English slang here. :)

Just curious, did your mother try to keep your Japanese language skills intact by, say, giving you daily Japanese lessons? Or did she just let you speak English at home?
Hi! elsinore, nice to meet you!
As for me, I envy you.
Yep, Japanese is more difficult than English but even if you don't have much accent, don't worry.
A lot of Japanese are very shy, therefor even if they know many words they/we don't try to speak English.
If you wanna learn the accent of Japanese, one of the method is try to hear the Japanese news via internet.
Or you can also learn from DVD (Japanese Movie).
Actually I've learned many words and slang from DVD.
I hope someday we can speak each other using ourselves' language.
Anyway I think that my sentences are wrong in places.
But I hope you know my meaning.
he he he he!
I love it when Americans say that they don't have an accent ;) lies.
Either that, or i'm just jealous because I know I dont sound like a native speaker ;)
