英語★できる人＆勉強してる人コミュのWhere have you been hiding?

Many teachers of NOVA sometimes said to me, “Where have you been hiding?”　But I don’t know what this phrase means.　 I asked them,” What’s the meaning of this phrase? ” They answered to me, ”Don’t you know such a easy English? It's very common phrase, Masaho.”　“Oh, no.　Please teach me in Japanese.” “ I can't speak Japanese.”　I guess it means,「しばらくぶりだけど、どうしていたの？」Is it right?

少し軽く嫌味を含んだ言い方のように聞こえます。
しばらく授業にこなかったじゃん！見たいな感じですかね。
でも、まったく持ってネガティブな感じではなく、
親しみを込めてジョーダンを言っている感じ

これ、けっこうごぶさたしていると先生達に言われます。ちっともネガティブな印象はうけませんよ(*^_^*)「どこにいたんだよー、久しぶりじゃん」という感じに聞こえます(^_^*)

I am a native English speaker (アメリカ人), and I don't think that“Where have you been hiding?”is easy English.

Lady Luckさんの説明と一致する。“Where have you been hiding?”の意味は「お久しぶり」だと思う。お久しぶりなので、隠れてた。

for foreigners to understand that words.

I know that some people use that expression, but personally I have never heard anyone saying that in real life.

"Where have you been?/What have you been up to? It's been ages!!"

are the samples of the common sayings among me and my friends.
