Job Title: Japanese Sales Executive
Location : Training in Midlands for 12-18 months prior to relocation to Japan
Basic Salary of £18,000-22,000, whilst UK based.
Bonus Scheme – to be agreed but 10 – 20% of salary should be a target based on deliverables to the company or higher if the benefits to the company are more.
UK manufacturing company is seeking a Japanese speaking sales executive to cover the Japanese market
The main role is to grow sales for the company in Japan by improving levels of communication and sales activity within our existing accounts in Japan; in addition the incumbent will lead market research and analysis into potential new markets within the same territory. Initially the role will be UK based from our existing headquarters for 12 – 18 months followed by relocation back to Japan to set up and lead the new business activity in the territory.
Primary responsibilities:
1. Work with the existing established accounts in Japan, from a customer service and sales perspective to improve communication and increase business opportunities.
2. Work with the Sales Manager and Product Development Manager to implement a plan for market development in the Japanese market.
3. To deal with all incoming Japanese enquiries, and respond accordingly. Where a formal quotation is submitted, ensure this is progressed and followed up to maximise the possibility of securing an order
4. To conduct market research and analysis in pre-determined sectors and pro-actively promote our entire range of products where feasible.
5. Work with our net marketing team to improve our internet placements and subsequently increase the amount of incoming enquiries generated through our e-commerce platform.
6. To complete the role in a pro-active, forward thinking and dynamic manor.
7. Travel to Japan when required to increase sales revenue and activity.
Person Specification
1. Ability to understand/learn technical knowledge of a wide range of technical ceramic materials and their manufacture.
2. Experience of sales in a technical or materials based environment is of an advantage but not critical.
3. Sound knowledge of Japanese business culture whilst maintaining a ‘Western’ mentality.
4. Good computer software knowledge coupled with the ability to utilise for effective sales growth.
5. Mother tongue standard Japanese and English. A third language such as Mandarin is an advantage but not a key requirement
