Ok, Festival time in Japan is great. I love Omatsuri season. This one was in Jiyugaoka and its always full of great Food and beautiful people. Where is the best Festival you have seen?
I've never been to a festival before. Though I've been to fairs, carnivals. Unless you count the River Fest...or something like that. i guess that can be considered a festival since it does say fest. That was okay, but it seemed rather boring. Except for the fireworks they're always really nice.

The 1995 medieval festival in Quebec city.People from England, France, Italy, Spain, America and all over the world particpated. You had sword fights, babes dressed as maidens, knights in heavy plate armor , you name it. Then again, Quebec city has always been a cool place for festivals.
the best maturi for me was the bon-maturi :D
there was like a tower in the middle and people dancin around it. And when i heard the YMCA song i just jumped into the circle and went dacin. (HAHAHA i bet i looked really weird, a gaijin dancin in the middle)
I'm a Japanese, and I have 3 children. When they were children, we used to join OMATSURI especially the summer time. They enjoyed it very much and my eldest son's favorite was KINGYO SUKUI. It was a very good memory for
me. Have you ever tried it?
Its too bad those GoldFish and Turtles almost always die a horrible death without growing up. They should exchange the fish/Turtles you catch for prizes instead of giving them to the person. Or better yet don`t use a living creature at all. I understand the tradition behind it all but we need to be more concerned for the welfare of the poor Turtles and Fish.
dude my goldfish is still alive after about a year from the kingyo sukui LOL
just that the little kingyo i got this summer got eaten by the other big guys
sad.....
