イギリスやオランダでは、風邪などをひいたとき最初に行く
のは病院ではないらしい。この点が大きく日本と異なる。
最初に医師のいるofficeいわゆる診療所に行き、そこで医師
が必要と判断すれば、紹介状を書くなどして病院にいく。病
院の医師はspecialist doctersという。
もちろん救急や出産の場合はDocter's officeを介さず病院
にいくことができる。
病院にいくということはその国の人にとったら大病を意味す
る。そのため日本に来た外国人は最初病院を受診することに
戸惑いを感じるようである。
