When I had first met this technology was at Aichi Internaional Exhibition and recently I watched about this on TV individually.
As you can see, it's quite simple and I doubted that it could be called as a state of the art technology. One thing because the idea of which can be seen in other country historically like Germany. They often hang flowers on their wall of houses. But as explained in this web site, the temperature was slightly different from other area of Aichi International Exhibition. And mostly, this area which means bio lung was very pleasant to stay. I and my friend exhausted so much at that time but we suddenly retrieved our vigor and started chat.
Most of our chat was complaining of this state of the art, like plants growed upright in spite of they planted on walls so we thought it's a bit unnatural way to plant greens and the wall itself would become awkward form sooner or later, but now I realize that the memory of this area is much clear than any other of this exhibition, and that could be the meaning that it worked somewhat to me.
Thank you for your comment! They just made bio lung wall in this size in Aichi International Exhibition but I imagine much highter is possible by combining same structures.
Your ideas definitely solve my questions that may occur by the growth of plants! But yesterday I realize that ivy can solve this problem simply. In the exhibition, they planted many kinds of flowers onto walls and they're very enjoyable but if only ivys are plant on these walls or directry on the bilding walls, we don't need to care their growth, as ivys grow accordingly to walls.
It's simple but not interesting. I didn't say any good things about this technology in the journal but I've often dreamed that if concrete walls of buildings covered by many flowers and plants, that's very pleasant to our eyes.
