政府税制調査会は２１日、社会保障と税の一体改革での消費増税に併せて、所得税の最高税率を現行の４０％から４５％に引き上げる方向で検討に入った。消費増税では低所得者層の負担増が問題点として指摘されていることから、高所得者ほど負担が増す「累進性」を強め、公平性に配慮する。
２１日の政府税調全体会合に引き上げ案を示し、年内をめどに策定する一体改革素案への盛り込みを目指す。ただ、民主党内には反対論もあり、実現するかどうかは不透明だ。
