2. Concerning the screening of selected works by applicants who do not wish for their works to be publicly screened.
Depending on the academic realm, for example, psychology and medical science, we imagine some films may be difficult to screen publicly, due to issues concerning the rights of the individuals portrayed within the film, in spite of academic significance. We in this competition are accepting these kinds of film entries as well, and will consider them for selection in the same way as any other entry. In the case that these films result in being selected and/or winning prizes, the entrant may decline to have the film publically screened. This does not in any way void the film’s selection and/or prize award. If there is any other concern or problem relating to the public screening of films, please contact the office directly by email.
Addendum: The “Kyoto University Museum Academic Film Expo 2009” will commence on the 5th of August! At this expo, we will showcase many different films from a variety of academic fields through regular screenings and displays. There will also be many talk shows and workshops held. In the interactive projection area, one will be able to experience space travel using 4-dimensional visual media. The selected and prize-winning works from the competition will be screened during the finale of this Expo (25th November – 10th December). We hope you will enjoy the “Kyoto University Museum Academic Film Expo 2009” and that it will allow you to experience first-hand the wonder of academic films!
