For old people,the superstition is a natural part of Japanese life and thought,I think...
But now,almost young people ignore or are unaware that.

For examaple,the number four is unlucky,because one of its pronunciations"shi"can also mean "death".So hospital rooms are almost numbered 1,2,3,5,...

I also believe some superstitions myself.(^^;
I always choose right. I always choose even number...etc.

Do you have own superstition?

I can understand the superstition of number 4. The house I wanted to live in next year had the number 44. In the end we didn't take it.

I am not superstitious but my friends are. One of them is when you see a rainbow don't point at it, otherwise you will have a crooked back forever.

If your house is by a slope it is good luck. Its as if money and luck run down towards you.

Theres a few more she has but I forget heh.
