Autumn/Winter 2010 We are Building a Civilised Space Here
--- The ffiXXed Autumn / Winter 2010 collection “We Are Building A Civilised Space Here” coincides with the opening of a new ffiXXed production studio in Shenzhen, China. The collection was developed between New York, Hong Kong and China, drawing from a range of aesthetic, formal and cultural influences.
The spaces once defined as either work or life are everywhere disintegrating. ffiXXed respond by producing garments to accompany the unfolding of our daily lives, in the home/office/apartment/studio and elsewhere. By occupying a space in-between these areas, they generate new and unexpected, trans-functional forms for everyday basics.
This season ffiXXed colaborated with artists James Deutsher to produce a digital silk print taken from his exhibition entitled We Are Building A Civilised Space Here at y3k gallery, Melbourne. The title is taken from a chapter of The Comming Insurection by the Invisible Committee
