Arepaz Immigrante Orchestra (AIO bio)
The Orchestra is a loose band of musicians that represent and capture the classic Arepaz sound. Immigrante, the spanish word for immigrant, becuase this is what Arepaz represents people Members include Roberto Lange also known as Epstein and his now disbanded project called Boom & Birds. Roberto is a second generation Ecuadorean with many of his family still living in Guayaquil. After living in Miami and Atlanta, he now resides in Crown Height, Brooklyn. His music combines his skill of a traditional producer which involves drum machine, computer and samplers to his skill with a guitar and keyboards. He's reformed at Sonar 2004 in Barcelona and toured throughout Europe and Japan since. Another member is Deviant. Deviant son of Bahamian and Jamaican parents was brought up in Miami. Deviant's musical taste ranges from broken beat and hip hop to funk and rock. His talent as a musician ranges from playing the rhodes, saxaphone and flute to programming beats on a computer. Devaint is currently traveling Latin America, where he will study language and music in Peru and Brazil. Last is Manuvers and Climber who are all of Chilean descent. These artists use more traditional methods of beat making, sampling from vinyl. Climber is a 2 man crew of producers with members whose travel has expanded from Tokyo to Buenos Aires and everywhere in between, which explains their extensive vinyl collection. Manuvers, who is also a DJ, has performed as well at Sonar 2004 as well as at many major music festivals in Santiago, the Chilean capitol. Manuvers is also known for his role as part of the Miami based label Counterflow. The entire collective is directed by the label owner and grpahic designer, La Mano Fria who has worked for over 10 years to bring forth a message through art and music. This is the first wave of hits brought to you by the collective, expect many more! The message of Arepaz Immigrante Orchestra is simple. Real roots music and immigrant pride because the world has no real borders, only those created by those who control the masses. Arepaz Immigrante Orchestra reminds you, the world is yours!
