Are being sent out this week! A whole bunch of American and London are being sent out today. Unfortunately my consulate is slow. But good luck everyone!!
my friend already got a letter...but it was a rejection!!
I was just reading big daikon...It seems like all the ones sent from london so far are rejections...eek!! mine didn't appear yet...but my friend who was rejected has amazing japanese and i thought he'd be perfect...if he didn't then i don't think i have much chance... (>_<)
how twisted into knots is your tummy?? ooooooh i hope you get it サラ!!
I just found out about this community and thought this would be a good time to join... Name's Russell, nice to meet you!これからもよろしく
I just got my e-mail about an hour ago, and I made the short-list!
Just to put my mind at ease... this pretty much means I'm going, right?
ARGH!! i've been sitting staring at my front door...but still no message! i guess that means the evil postman has nothing for me today...might have to call my brother tonight...maybe they sent it to the wrong house...???
well done rustykid and sara!!
(mochee won't activate my handle so i just lurk i'm afraid...i want to comment- but i guess it's better that i can't- I'd spend WAAAY too much time watching it!!)
haha i have been obbsessed the last couple days. i think its a good thing that you haven't heard yet it seems that they sent out the rejections first. so hopefully you will have good news by the end of the week.
my consulate said they would be sending letters by post sometime after the 10th but i found out i was getting an email about 2 hours before i got it and was a nervous wreck all day.
They sent me an e-mail the week after the interview saying when they'd send the e-mail with the results "after April 3rd." So I've been a nervous wreck since February!
Where did everyone interview? I went from Miami, FL, USA.
If you get rejected by JET and still want to be an ALT, there are more and more cities in Japan that hire ALT directly through human resource companies. So it's not the end of the world.
Some of the cities might even offer direct contracts if you have been a local resident for many years (my case). One of the advantages of having a direct contract is that you can work as long as you want (compared to 3 years with the JET).
I was the ALT in charge of my city's ALT program, so I was able to learn a great deal of things regarding the job. If you have any question, feel free to drop me a line. Good luck!
i got an email yesterday that said congratulations for passing the 2nd phase of the interview process and being selected as an assistant language teacher for the 2006 2007 school year. so im assuming this means im going. i havent recieved a letter in the mail yet though, and i thought they were only sending by usps, whatever, i think im in so its japan bound baby. i chose kagoshima, miyazaki, and sapporo. if ya interviewed in los angeles, ill be seein ya at the first orientation meeting thingy, later all.
hehehe...i just had heart failure when the postman delivered - and it was only a credit card statement for my flatmate!! i guess I'll keep on waiting...
thank you guys!! but I know i have a much smaller chance of getting in as i went for CIR...
ARGH!!! postman has been and gone- my friends now know...but no post for me!! eek!! I phoned (in case they sent it to my parents address, but they told me they'll send it to both!!)
still more waiting...
out of my friends...1 rejection, 2 alternates (both complete sweeties so i hope they get bumped) and two of us mailless!! damit!
(i did the sensible thing and went out, drunk far too much, and danced until they threw us out the club last night!! i didn't know wednesdays could be so fun!!)
my email response said congrats and im scheduled for placement,i know this is probably pretty obvious but there was no mention of a "short list", so am i in or not? any help would be great.
