Our client is currently searching for a BI Manager

Providing BI Management across Japan including systems and application solutions for our client. The Business Intelligence manager will be a key team member of the Business Intelligence and Database Engineering group supporting BI development and lifecycle practices in an exciting company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Data Warehouse modeling & design, Enterprise reporting and development of BI Analytics.

The duties of this position will include:

• Lead the efforts in the Business Intelligence development lifecycle from business requirements to development of logical design, translation to physical design, and testing using Business Intelligence Development tools.
• Provides leadership, participates in activities such as work planning, process development, resource optimization, employee goal setting, coaching, hiring decisions, and performance monitoring.
• Contribute substantially in the business analysis for reporting requirements and the definition of the report functional specifications based on business needs.
• Managerial and technical involvement in the analytics & reporting development effort based on functional specifications and deliver high quality reports, dashboards and analytics to meet the needs of various business units such as Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and Executives.
• Cross train and mentor the team in efficient DW design & report development techniques.
• Handle all managerial activities including project planning, execution, resource allocation, mentoring, performance reviews, training etc
• Participates in engagements with remote groups: vendors, other facilities, other departments. Consults on issue resolution and troubleshooting.
• Act as business specialist as well as technical generalist. Suggest solutions, analyze and document business process, provide functional expertise, big picture perspective, and deep knowledge of business processes.
• Prioritize business requests, translation into technical specifications and strategic fit.
• Provide specific application or tool support and/or training to business. Oversee and support end-user training through preparation and delivery of training course and materials. Support testing activities including construction of test plans/scripts including the expected results and validation of test results. Develop and manage project plan, schedule, scope, and deliverables.

All qualified candidates will have:

• Bachelors Degree and minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience
• Strong background in DW, BI, DC is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with aspects of the Data Warehouse lifecycle including data analysis, data modeling & design.
• Experienced with any major ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, etc is required.
• Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in BI architecture such as Teradata, Cognos, etc.
• Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices
• Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
• Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
• Leading functional teams or large, cross-functional projects
• Interpreting internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services

The salary range for this position is: Open, 8-12M
