臭い豆嫌いの英語練習コミュの3 things you would say to a person visiting Japan

I was talking with a friend about what we thought are the three most important things you would tell any foreigner who is visiting or going to live in Japan, they MUST know about Japan. ^_^

For me, I thought the 3 most important things were:

1) ALWAYS take off your shoes before going into a house, (and know the diffreence between house slippers and bathroom slippers) ^^

2) Make sure you have a gift for your friend or family you are staying with

3) When you are talking to someone in Japan, if they don't look in your eyes, it does not mean they are not listening to you.

I just thought of these quickly, but I am sure there are many others. What do you think?
What would you tell someone coming to Japan are the 3 things they should know?

In America three important things are:

1) If you stay with friends or family, they will often say, "help yourself". Which means you can cook or drink whatever you want from their house. They will maybe not serve it to you. ^^

2) Food in the US has a loooot of sugar, is very colorful, and will make you fat. ^_^

3) Of course everyone is different, but Americans are sometimes very aggressive and will say their opinions very strongly.

How do you do? I'm akko.
I study Engrish.First time I wrote there,So It is hard for you to read my sentence.

The 3 most important things I would say to a person visiting in Japan are

1)When you have a japanese bath, you don't empty the water out of the tub.

2)When you get a present from japanese, they would say "tsumaranaimonodesuga ". But it doesn't mean the present is worthless.

3)You may often listen "sumimasen" or "gomennnasai".
Japanese apologize many time.
Hi Akko,

Welcome! ^_^
I can understand your english great! You don't have to worry about it. ^^

Your 3 points are great!

In my Japanese class, when we practiced going to a host family, we said, 「つまらない物ですが...」maybe 1,000,000 times...haha
So it is important.

And the bath is very good too!!
For Americans, we NEVER use the same bath water as someone else. So people need to know itね。^_^

When I was in Japan, I said, 「すみません...」sooo much!
Even when I returned to the US, I said 「すみません。。。」to American people. ^_^

Thanks for your great ideas!
I hope you will write again soon.
Hi 臭い豆嫌いさん.

I'm glad to hear your answer!
My courage rose up me.

I'll write down constantly..ahaha◎
Hi Kaori, ^_^

I think 2 of your points are great!
"itadakimasu" and "gochisousama" are good points to know!
But #3 is a little scary....hahaha
And I am not sure it IS food ^^

あっこさん、

All we can do is our best right?
If you are trying hard to improve just a little each day, someday you will wake up and be a great english speaker!
I can promise it. ^^
