One of the toughest parts of English is articles/助詞(a,an, the) So....since we are all so naturally smart, let's do our best. ^_^
'The' is very difficult, but there are some rules to remember, that make it easy. For example, if you are talking about something, that your conversation partner also knows, you would say 'The'. 相手の話している人は賓辞を分かるならTHEを使います。
"Can you bring me THE chair" "Can you show me THE book" "I went to THE concert"
If your conversation partner does not know the object you are talking about, or you do not want a special one, you would use "a or an" 相手の話している人は賓辞を知らないかあなたは特別じゃない/何でも物が欲しいならAを使います。
"Can you show me A picture" "Can you bring me A bowl of Nattou" "I would like A bottle of water, to clean my mouth from the Nattou taste"
When using A and An, it is easy to remember which you should say.
'A' always comes before 子音. 'An" always before a 母音. 'A,E,I,O,U'
A book A Smelly bean A baby panda
An elephant An avocado An orange
Maybe, everyone knows this already, so if it is too simple, just let me know. ^_^
Thx,James! It was so interesting for me.
I came to use suitable article each time when I write English,
but I cannot use appropriate article in conversation yet.
So I wanna have more conversation with my prfessors.
In my university, more than harf of faculty are native speakers.
That's pretty good environment for students, isn't it?
Someday, I wanna speak English like you do...
I cant speak fluent English yet.
Just take your time, and don't worry too much about it. Articles are the #1 most difficult thing, so just practice and slowly you will improve. Definite article "THE" is for something in particular, "THAT cat, THAT house, THAT chair". Indefinite articles "A, AN" are for not a special thing, "ANY chair, ANY cat, ANY house"
Keep trying, I know you are doing great so far!! I am always impressed by your english!!
Hi Mari ^_^
Thank you for your comment!
Yes, you have a great environment!! Because the best way to learn english is through speaking. So if you can do it, you will learn quickly. Don't worry about making mistakes, just talk as much as you can. ^_^
But you do not want to speak english like me...as I study japanese more, my english is becoming terrible...haha
I think I am forgetting english. ^_^
