How are you doing? I wanted to say hello and also wish you all the best for
2006.

Also there is some good news you might enjoy. You remember Tom, right?
Well, he is coming back to Oita for one year to teach and live and may even
be the teacher in your NHK class! It would be wonderful for you be able to
hear about his adventures in Africa and his travels.

Please enjoy everything in 2006 and I hope I can see you soon!

It is so wonderful to hear from you!!!!
Of course, I remember Tom.
He is my first English teacher at NHK.
And your wonderfhl planning "Tennessee Trip 2000" is not forgotten through in my life.
I can not thank you enough for your help, Patty.

I am looking forward to learn his English class again and to hear about his African life.

Patty, I divorced on JAN 6th.
Because my husband is an eldest son.
It is old Japanese custom that an eldest son must help his parents and keep his family and descendant.

I went to a hospital and I tried oparation and treatment for about 2 years.
But we couldn't have our children.
So, we decided it.

We lived together for 11 years.
We will do a separate living in the future.

I hope my new life and my future will be better and happy, and I hope same to him.

I wish you many happy year in 2006 and I hope to see you soon, Patty.

Oh Yoko!
Thanks for your email and your news of your new life. I hope you will be
happy and free in your new life and keep your spirit for studying and
enjoying English.

Getting divorced in Japan is now common and the old ways of life styles are
changing. This is a good thing for women, I believe. I know that having
children is a big pressure here especially for CHONAN!

But now you have choices and freedom to make good decisions. Even though it
is hard to let go, we need to be brave and free to find new doors to open.
I believe you will be happy because you are a forward looking person.

I really hope to see you in the near future and talk about so many important
things in our lives. Tom will be happy to see you again and hear of your
adventures since our wonderful Tennessee trip!
