我々は自分の親が年老いた時（いずれ来るべきことだが）、老人介護施設に入れるべきだろうか。それとも、自宅で介護するべきだろうか。答えは人によって様々であろう。なぜなら、世の中には様々な環境で生きている人々がいるからだ。体が不自由な人、健康な人、毎日忙しく働いたり、学校でなにかを学んでいる人。裕福な人や貧乏な人。
まず、結婚した中流階級の夫婦がどちらかの親の介護が必要な場合について考えてみよう。夫婦のどちらかが家に居る場合（大抵は奥さんのほうになるだろうけど）、介護をすることは可能である。しかし、家で介護をする場合必要になってくることが多々ある。まず介護用品だ。足腰が不自由な場合には車椅子、また専用の電動で動くベッド、広い家なら家の中で怪我や事故のないように手すりや段差のあるところにはスロープを設置しなくてはならないだろう。自宅で介護する場合にはそれらを用意するだけでかなりの金額になるだろう。その点、介護施設は、老人介護に必要な物が全て揃っている。しかし、介護施設にかかる費用もそれなりにかかるだろう。また、現在介護施設で働く介護士の数が少ないことが問題になっている。常に介護士と看護婦の募集はどこの施設、病院も行っているだろう。その理由に、仕事は大変なのに給料が少ないということだ。これは、介護とは本来家庭内で行うものとして誰でも出来るという理由からなのかもしれないが、体力を使う仕事であり、精神的にも楽に出来る仕事ではない。介護士が少ない現状は介護の質に影響を与えるだろう。また入居費用も安くはならない。政府は老人介護にもっとお金を使うべきであり、介護スタッフに労働分の賃金を払わなくては介護の質は良くならないと思う。そうならないと、我々は安心して自分の親を介護施設に入れられないのではないのだろうか。
The needs of aged care facility
When our parents get old (It's coming for everyone),is it better to put them into aged care facility？Or,do we need to care for them at our home ourselves? The answers are different from everyone.Because,There are so many people live with many ways.People who have sick,or well people,people who works hard everyday,and student.The rich and the poor.
Anyway,let's think about the case of middle classed married couple when their parents need nursing care. It's possible for them to care for their parents at home if one of them(Usually,it's wife.) stay at home.However,they need many equipments.Nursing care equipments.They need wheel chair if their legs are disabled and electric bed.And hand rail,slope for bump need to be placed so that there is no accident and they will not be injured.I guess those things cost a lot. In this respect,it's better to use care faciliy because there are everything and they don't need to buy them. However,use care facility itself cost a lot.And the matter is that the number of care workers is not enough nowdays.Many care facilities and hospitals are always lacking care worker.This happens because their wage is not good, though work is very hard. The reason that their wage is not good might be the fact that nursing care is can be done by anyone at home basically.However,work is hard physically and mentally as well.This situation will affect the quality of nursing care at faciliy and care cost is not cheap.Goverment should use more money for aged care facility and pay care workers more wage deserves the work.Otherwise, quality of care will be not good, and we can't trust and ask them to care for our parents.
