this is my bad beats column where im going to just vent out my anger and frustration and also keep a record so i can learn from my losses. and maybe u guys can learn from it as well. please feel free to comment or give advice.
today, i had some tough losses. i played alot. i feel confident in my game, yet i cannot seem to win.
1. i have QQ in the big blind. after a few calls, the button triples the blind to 150. i reraise a thousand. button calls. flop comes J48, i bet all in for another thousand. he calls. he has AJoffsuit. i got him!!!
the turn is like 10 and then the river comes his A!!
and thats the end of that tournament.
2. i have K 10 of spades under the gun. blinds r already half of my chip stack, so i go all in. 2 people call.i thought they had me but one has K8 of hearts and the other has Q3. K comes on the flop and i think im gonna triple up, but with one heart on the flop and a runner runner, the other guy hits his flush. and thats the end of that tournament. like wow.
the road to wpt is steeper than i thought.

まぁ結構この数日でBAT BEATSあったよね！？
１個目。私だったらAJ offsuitでそこまで強気で行けないので彼はそのハンドがとっても強いものだと思ってるんじゃない！？んでもってLuckがあったから勝てた。だって、始めに例えばレイズの1000じゃなくてall in したとしても、彼はコールしてきそうだもん。
２個目。これもまぁ仕方ないっちゃ〜仕方ないんじゃないの？だって強さからしたら皆どっこいどっこいでしょ！？んで、フラッシュの確率を考えたらTakにだって起こり得る事だったわけだし。それが向こうのハートだったからね・・・。
ちなみに私は、カジノでのJのトップペアで強気で行くTakとインサイドドローのストレートでコールし続けた彼のゲーム。それが一番私だったら悔しい・・・！！

Hm...in a case like the first one, there's probably nothing you can do differently. I suppose it's just bad luck. It's a reasonable call (with the top pair), but I might not do so if my enemy goes all in and it makes me go all in.
When reading a poker book, I was thinking that playing limit poker might give me a lot more stable winnings than playing no-limit one. I do think it's very worthwhile playing huge tornaments online for WPT or bit prizes, but to save money for entry fees of tournaments, it could be more effective to become a good player in limit poker and make profit consistently.
A great poker pro can go for a year not winning one tournament, but it probably won't happen to him if he's a great limit-poker player and play only limit games.

yea... thats definitely true. poker pros seem to be more consistent at the limit tables. but its hard when u dont have much money, cuz at limit tables, u dont know how much money the other guy has. like what u think is a big aggressive bet with your $20, could be worth much less to a guy who doesnt care about $20.
i just played with some friends who gambles alot and they arent any better than me, i dont think, but i couldnt win, cuz i kept getting bluffed out w/ their big bets and they kept on calling me on my big bets and kept outdrawing me. like one time, i had a A9 offsuit in the big blind, and a few people called, so i raised it pretty big, trying to steal the pot right there, but one guy called with Q9 offsuit and another guy w/ A4 suited. a Q came on the river for him to end up winning, but i couldnt believe that he was calling w/ Q9 offsuit and was dumb enough to keep betting til the river. i was devastated. like these guys were playing too crazy.
anyways, i learned my lesson that i should play at a table where i feel comfortable enough to be able to play MY game and not try to adjust to their betting.

Yeah, I do understand what you mean. But what I meant by limit game is limit game, not CASH game. Limit game is the one we have played at the casinos, not torney either. Get it?
So it really doesn't matter how much money you or your opponents have, because you are allowed to bet within a certain extent. If it's a $2-4 game, you can raise only $2 at a time for the first round. They can't scare you out betting $50 before the flap.
So, speaking of CASH game, yup, you should't play with people who are too richer than you. Cash game can sometimes be very costly. But as a matter of fact, I made a lot of profit by playing cash games since there were so many loose players who get so easily on tilt and go all-in 5 times in a row.
I recommend $25 no-limit cash game. You sit with $25 at MOST. So it's not gonna happen that some super wealthy guy suddenly sits down with $2000 and bets all of it in every hand. No.
I think it's worth a try.
