Kevin Durand has appeared in a slew of blockbusters and is best known
for his role as Martin Kearny on Lost. The actor stands an astounding
6'7 and shows a great passion for life. Let's see what he had to say:
Tell me about how you got into acting:
How long have you been in LA? Do you love it here?
How do you prepare for a role?
Do you have to go on a diet?
I'm always on a bloody diet! Once again it depends on whether he's
ripped or if he's a pizza and beer dude. I love pizza and beer. Who the
hell doesn't love pizza and beer?
Tell us about your role in Wolverine. Who do you play?
I play Frederic J. Dukes. A.K.A. The Blob. He's hilarious, he's tragic,
charming, powerful, and weighs in at about nine hundred pounds give or
take. He loves pizza and beer more than anyone else in the world.
What was it like getting into that suit everyday? Was it claustrophobic?
I'd be an absolute wanker if I complained about the suit being
uncomfortable. It's not like I was welding pickets in forty below, or
crab fishing on the high seas... but things would get a little hot under
all that prosthetic flab. It was so worth it. Fred is awesome.
Tell us about your other upcoming films Legion and Robinhood.
I have the absolute pleasure and honor of playing Little John in Robin
Hood for Ridley Scott. We've been training for quite awhile now and I'm
having the time of my life.
As for LEGION, I play the Archangel Gabriel and that comes out in the
new year. I haven't seen it yet, but I've got a really good feeling
about it.
You’ve been in Robinhood onstage…what is it like to be Little John?
I played him in a pantomime in Toronto at the Elgin Theatre. It was
really fun and silly and was a blast. The real Little John is coming to
life now on this film. I'm not going to say much about him. It's top
secret. If I tell you, I'll have to take you out with my tremendously
long staff... you know what I mean you perves.
What do you like to do for fun?
Keeping fit. Making music. Being with my family and friends. Hanging
with my better half is the most fun because she is sooooo much better.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My parents. Hands down. I'm lucky to have them.
What are your plans for the future?
Make great movies. Try to be a better person. Have a family. Smell the
roses and be merry.
What is your dream role?
I'm doing a dream role right now... I'll focus on one at a time.
Who are your favorite fashion designers?
Hugo Boss.
What are your favorite restaurants?
I love TOI on Sunset. Mercedes grill in Marina Del Rey. Pan Pacific
Restaurant at portsocall in San Pedro for the best seafood I've ever had.
