Hey guys.. you know what I gotta move to Okayama in 2 weeks, I'm gonna work there from this April. I just found out like couple of days ago and I feel so sad :-(
So I can't be part of this chatting meeting in this area, sorry guys, I just hope that there'll be enough people in this community soon to have a real chatting meeting at a starbacks:-)

but good luck with your new life and new job in Okayama, i first thought you wrote Okinawa, lol, so similar!!! are you going to use English at work?

sorry I didn't notice this :-b, Yeah I'm gonna work using English. Actually I'm going to teach English conversation to children. Little kids in preschools and primary schools. It would be really tough but fun as well I guess. I just want others/kids to know how it is fun to learn english besides the grammer classes at school. So I'll do my best!

めかるん、 i am not going back to okinawa, yet. I have no plan. i have a life here in yokohama, and it wont have changed, i guess, for another few years :)

そのこ、i may be able to meet you and others, but i think we need at least one more people for this meeting. its much easier to meet strangers than meeting one stranger at the first meeting, i guess haha.

and, i dont think i will change the community policy which goes now like a member should hold a TOEIC score of 900 or so. I dont think I like to lower the level of this community. but still we accept some exceptions i think. if you wanna join us its ok.

you know what? i just dont wanna be a teacher or a person whose English is the best among the members. Thats the reason. One day, we will gather at a Starbucks somewhere and if im the only one whose TOEIC is over 900 and others have all about 700 to 800 points, its not fun to me. i will be like a teacher for them. no no no :-)

If you wanna join a group of the level you menetioned, you can still find lots of them in mixi, or you can make it up by yourself. understand ? :-)

and if you wanna join our group, i would say you should not be afraid of anything just because the result of your TOEIC test is not high enough. Okay? If you are really afraid, it may be too early for you to become a member of our community. to stay here or leave is totally up to you. you decide, ne :)

I started this community for people who speak English without any kinds of hesitations or difficulties of expressing their thoughts. Its just a chatting, common!! you should not be afraid of just speaking ! desho ?

of course we make mistakes and i do a lot. your English need not be perfect to be a member of this community. or it should not be ... hahaha!

take it easy, you will be fine :-P

but since we have not enough active members, i dont know when we can really meet up :-(

yup! try harder then you will be soon improving your English. It should not be that difficult, ne. since not many are leaving thier comments here, why dont you start a new topic and write your comments in English? I will respond to all of your comments. I may not be able to respond to you always quickly though. writing is a good way to study English, really. But still you need to hear, read and speak it too :-)

I've been noticing this Community,but have never actually joined...until now.
I hope i can make friends here,communicating in English.

I'm a returnee from the States...bn 15 yrs since i returned, so i'm not really sure
if i can relate to myself as a returnee anymore... but I was there for 6 yrs of Grade school.

I haven't really had a fab. environment to keep up my English skills since i returned to Japan, but I like LANGUAG, and that's the most important thing in
learning/keeping up ur Language skills, in't it? I haven't been the best student
throughout my school years...I hated studying as in desk and notebook and tests... but i have always been a BIG book lover,and that really helped, cuz I scored
TOEIC 900 and EIKEN 1st grade, and reading was the only daily connection i had
with English.

I've always wanted to have someone to talk to in English. So far,the best i ever had was my College proffesor (Irish).

I'd like to hang around occasionally and make friends with people, so...

Hi, JUN, It did :) thanks for introducing yourself. i guess you are lucky because you can talk to your Irish professor in English. I dont speak English in my daily life in the office or with my friends. but recently i am kinda Guinness addict and go to an Irish pub in jiyugaoka. I made lots of friends there including Japanese and others, so i can talk to them in eng from time to time. thats the only chance for me to twist my tongue to pronounce English phrases hahaha.

so far, i have never met anybody from mixi, but am still hoping someday we can gather and have fun chat in English at Starbucks :)
