R: I’m home…(部屋に入るリタ)
Joyful Joyful… come and join a chorus, the mighty mighty chorus…
M: Rita!! You are always singing…what’s going on with your job hunting?
R: (silent)
M: You just never learn, do you? After graduating, you have to be on your own. Being an adult means being financially and emotionally autonomous. Do you understand? No matter how many times you sing loudly, you can’t make a living. Wake up Rita!!
R: …you don’t know why I love singing; you have never tried to listen to me.
M: What?
R: You praise me only when I got good grades. You hope that I get into a famous company. You only want to present a sweet face to neighborhoods.
M: Don’t be silly. I hope that you have no trouble living and be happy.
R: That is not my happy. I devote my singing life to making someone happy.
M: That is a dream come true. Quit kidding yourself. For what purpose have you attended a university?
R: It’s so that I find important things in my life. I met dear friends and got into fights. Now therefore, I found out irreplaceable friendships and the meaning of my life.
M: That’s true… but it’s so hard to make a living. You have to live for yourself.
R: That’s what I intend to do. I know the road will be rocky but I want to go.
M: No earthly business. Come to yourself!!

R: I was just foolin’ around with some stuff.

Sister Mary Clarence wants us to learn it... for the choir.
M: Now. Just when were you gonna tell me that you’re in a choir?
Rita, how many times do we have to go through this?
Singing does not put food on the table.
Singing does not pay the bills.
Singing does no guarantee to a future even if you have got talent.
R: Mama. Did you know I can sing?
M: So could your daddy. And he’s died. still trying to make it.
R: But what does that have to do with me?
Mom, We’re. We’re a good choir.
