Okayama Crows had their first Footy Training Session on the 10th of May, at Kurashiki Sakazu Park. That day it gradually got hot but at least it didn't rain!
Instead of starting training at 11 am it ended up being 12. How lazy is that!!! I kinda guessed that would end up happening though. Anyway it was Mother's day and many people had plans but 11 people attended so it was okay! I still would have preferred more people to have come though. Everyone was nice and very much active! There were also foreigners but they spoke pretty good Okayama Dialect/slang, so we didnt have any problems communicating with them.
Most of the ppl who attended this footy event were beginners so we explained the basic rule, taught them how to HANDBALL and KICK. They said it hurts when they handball... so we used the soft footy. lol About 10-15minutes into playing time, they could handball well with the reasonable distance, so it was all good!
The team members who trained were 4 guys, 3 ladies and 2 random kids around the park. The rest of people were setting up the BBQ for us! Everyone enjoyed whatever it was they were doing wether it was training or enjoying a yummy BBQ so hopefully this continues next week. I guess it was a good start for the first time!
Thanks to those people who attended the event, we have training on every sunday at 11am, the time may change as it gets hot though. The next training session is 17th of May from 11am. I am thinking of playing a mini game if many people come.
I'm glad that the first training session ended with a good outcome.
