広告なので和訳が難しくて・・・。

The story of how "Whassp" became so popular started years before it was ever in an advertisment.It began in 1986 with Charles Stone?,at a time when he was simply a young college student with a group of friends who started greeting each other with the phrase on the phone.It was one of many rituals and greetings among the died forever at the end of that time,but Charles jotted it down in his sketchbook,knowing he'd use it for something n the future.

やまさん、

もしかして、"Whassp"? ではなくて、"What's up" を省略した"Whassap"のことでしょうかね?　それから、the died forever at the end of that time　っていうとこ、なんか違いません？何か単語が抜けてるような。。。とりあえずこんな感じでしょうか。

"Whassap"は、広告として使われる様になる何年も前から既に人気をはくしていた。事の始まりは１９８６年、当時ただの若い大学生だったチャールズ　ストーンが、友達と挨拶代わりに電話で用いるようになったフレーズ。後に完全に死語となった台詞やしきたりのうちの一つだったが、チャールズは、いずれ何かに使えるだろうとスケッチブックに書き留めておいたと言う。
