I noticed I had some communication difficulties since I do such a great job going back and forth from Japanese to English.

Some phrases are better worded in English and some in Japanese...you know, for example, I can't simply say, "愛してる" to my bfs (who are Japanese) in Japanese whereas in English it's really easy to say.

"愛してる"in Japanese is too heavy of a word cuz when I spitted that word out during some of my past relationships, the dudes 引いた like 引き潮。Is it just me??? It feels really unnatural to say it too so I either have to end up using "light" terms such as "好き."

In movie theaters...I'd be like the only person laughing to this scene whereas my friends all look at me and laugh at me who's laughing (omg, that sentence is poorly phrased). And they ask me "so what's the joke about?" so I explain…で説明の仕方が悪かったのかもしれないけど they look at me like I'm nuts.「どこが面白いの?」って…。

Have any of you here encountered these kinds of situations before cuz I hope I'm not the only one...if I am...I going to work extra hard on socializing skills...(^^;
