Bill has been based at Islington Mill since 1997 when, having graduated from fashion at St Martin’s School of Art (1994) he returned to Manchester to set up a business in design. He initially leased a floor of the building before eventually going on to purchase the building outright in 2001. Since then he has concentrated on developing the building into a genuinely new and exciting place where a true spirit of opportunity exists.
Bill’s ambition for the Mill has always been on providing a space where ideas can become reality and in turn the building has spawned a truly remarkable array of activity. This has ranged from the utterly amazing to the truly awful but the central ethos of ‘doing’ remains as strong as ever.
