Jong and I met with Isaac's Neonatologist, Pediatric Cardiologist and Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon last night. We discovered that Isaac's heart condition is worse that we had been communicated to us so far and that his surgery is also going to be a lot more complicated and risky that we had originally. Jong and I therefore wanted to ask all of you to pray for Isaac, his doctors and nurses specifically for preparation going into his surgery next week and for Isaac's condition to stay stable until the surgery. Unless there is a change in Isaac's condition, his surgery will start at 9 am next Thursday on June 22. We will be meeting with Isaac's Anesthesiologist on next Tuesday morning.
Please also pray for Jong and I as we are both exhausted. I have also been sick since this weekend and really want to recover from this nasty cough that I have which is preventing me from touching, singing to and talking too much to Isaac when I visit (the latter 2 are because I start coughing too much if I talk to much and I definitely can't sing). I really want to be able to be able to provide any reassurance that I can for Isaac next week and he really enjoys our touch and our singing. I have to get ready to go into work now but I will write more later but we do have a bit more details on our blog - www.soniaandjong.blogspot.com
Thank you so much for your continued prayers for Isaac.

Another Surgery for Isaac Tomorrow
Dear all,
I just got a call from Isaac's doctor saying that the eye doctor checked Isaac's ROP (retinopathy of prematurity) and it has now worsened from Stage 2 to Stage 3. They would like to perform laser eye surgery on him tomorrow evening Tokyo time before his eyes get worse. The surgery is much more straight forward and less risky than his heart surgery last Thursday but they will put him under general anesthesia so that he wouldn't be able to move during the surgery.
Please pray for a smooth surgery and that the surgery will successfully treat his ROP. Jong is not here and I don't have the wireless connection so I will need to update after I get home late tomorrow night.
The surgery will probably start around 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm Tokyo time, which is 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm Hong Kong time, 4:30 am to 5:00 am EST and 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm Sydney time. It will take around 2 hours (1 hour for each eye).
Apart from his eye condition, Isaac has been doing very well after his surgery - thanks to all of your prayers.
