Weapons of Mass Belief
After relocating to London from the sleepy seaside town of Penarth in Wales last year, brother/sister rappers JG and Georgia G and their band unleashed their debut single 'Terrorist Youth' to critical acclaim - "Welsh punk politicos unleash a hugely promising debut single" declared Kerrang!
Before the end of the year, W.O.M.B had been played across Radio 1, on the evening sessions of Zane Lowe, Steve Lamacq and Beth & Huw and toured as part of the Radio 1 'In New Music We Trust' tour. Using the pennies saved from their day jobs - which range from chef to porn music producer - the band also made their second trip to America for two sweaty gigs at Los Angeles' Viper Room and Space Lounge.
"Sounds like both Eminem and Supergrass playing at the same time" NME
Joe Driscoll
When you hear the phrase Folk music you may not think of an energized, beat-boxing rhyme slinger, who compels audiences to holler, whose sound pushes tables aside and charms audiences to their dancing feet. But if you’d check the dictionary for once instead of being a judgemental ne’er-do-well, you’d see that folk is the music originated among the common people in a time and a place, and Joe Driscoll is the sound of the people right here, right now.
His eclectic compositions are a tapestry of American roots music. An indescribably original canvas of rock and soul, with dynamic tones of hip-hop, funk and reggae seeping through. Using a delay pedal as a sampler, Joe builds multi-layered loops in the live setting, creating the soundscape of a live band with only his voice and guitar. All the rhythms and melodies are created live, each and every night.
Signed in 2005 to UK label Buttercuts Records a new album is in the works, having previously released two independent solo albums, scored independent films, and appeared as a musical guest on NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly; the future only holds progress.
