The RED BULL BEAT BATTLE "MIX TAPE CHALLENGE"
WANTED: An 8th DJ to rock an 8 minute BREAKBEAT mix!
Do you think you've got what it takes? If so it is time to submit your best composition for the chance to be selected as the one wildcard mix to be featured alongside these 7 internationally renowned DJ's:

If you are chosen, your mix tape will be the soundtrack for one of the B-Boy crews to choreograph their theatrical masterpiece to and perform it at the Red Bull Beat Battle in March 2007.
As the 8th DJ you will also win ?800 plus 2 tickets for the Red Bull Beat Battle (travel to and accommodation in London, will be covered).

Mr Wiggles is heading up the Mixtape challenge - so you'd better mix to impress! The winner will be contacted by Mr Wiggles, who will work with you to ensure the winning mix is indeed one of the top 8 break beat mixes in the world representing at the Red Bull Beat Battle in London.
***IMPORTANT: CRITERIA FOR MIX TAPES***
* 8 MINUTE B-BOY SHOW TAPE (MIXTAPE, CD): They must be cut to exactly 8 minutes, no more, no less.
* INTRO: Creative intro that will allow the dancers to set up their flow.
* ORIGINAL OR OBSCURE BEATS: The beats can be made by way of drum machines, live drums, obscure drum samples, creative and funky grooves.
(Please do not use popular drum breaks that most B-BOYS will know.)
* CREATIVE MIXES, BLENDS, CHOPS, EDITS, CUTS, VOCAL BITES, EFFECTS etc. Enough transitions for the BBOY crews to play with throughout their run.
* CHALLENGING MUSICAL MOMENTS: We want these crews to think out-of-the-box at times. Without throwing off the tape with something corny, create moments that will make the BBOY CREW dig deeper in their choreography.
* TEMPO CHANGES: Include shifts in tempo to break up the piece, and also to help the crews pace their showcase.
* BUILD UPS: Create moments that build up to get the crews energized to do more powerful movements that are clearly driven by your music.
* OUTRO: You can end the mix any way you want, but keep in mind this is a competition for best B-BOY Choreography. Make sure you end with a bang and make a statement because it will be the last moment remembered by the audience and the judges.
