The 2020 summit is being held this weekend in Australia.
It is designed to allow a diverse range of Australians to discuss topics important to our future.
The governance steam of the conference has decided today that Australia should considering being a republic.
And, more importantly, that this should happen as soon as possible.
Bob Debus, a Federal Minister, has proposed that it happen by 2010.
The Conference has endorsed this proposal.

Maybe we will need a new flag - to give rid of that damned Union Jack.
I reckon the good old boxing kangaroo would do nicely as a national flag.

It is surprising that AU becomes republic from commonwealth.
Will it be to become centralization of political power?
And I'm slightly worried about what will happen to the states and the name of states such as Queensland,New South Wales and Victoria.
About the design of a flag, I prefer to add the Southern Cross,anyway.
